I have the basic framework code finished. Now I'm trying to write a code generator
that will take care of my data access layer. After that is finished, I can start
writing the code that will show stuff on the screen. Plus, I added something interesting
at the bottom of the screen.

The new database is finally done after a year of hard labor on my part! That means I
can finally begin work on the program. I expect the code to go rather quickly because
I've gotten so much better over the last couple years. (It is my real job, you know!)
Once I have everything in the program finished, I'll release it as a "Beta". This will
allow all of you to use the offline version of the program. While everyone is testing it,
I will begin work on a new website design that will incorporate the entire program to
the online world (including saving data). Once that is finished, I will make any fixes
the the code and officially release v5.00 along with the new website. After all that,
translations will begin by those wonderful volunteers willing to give a little time to
the cause! :)

The new database is getting close to having all the data loaded. I only have a few more big
tables left to load and then I can start working on the coding. It has taken me so long for the
database because it has just become a big pain in the ass and no fun to put together. The good news
is that I'll give the database out for free to anyone who wants to use it. I don't know why the
Pokemon community doesn't allow people to use a general database that everyone uses. If you think
you can make a better site than me, by all means do it! :)
On a side note, I updated the MKPP v5.0 IV Calculator Only code so that it shows the text for everyone.
I also fixed a bug that someone mentioned in regards to a characteristic. I had put it as Att instead of Def.
Here is the link again, in case you didn't know about it:

Note: Yep, it really was me, Kankuro! :)

Just wanted to let you all know that I am still alive. I have been very busy at work, so when
I get home, I didn't have anything left to put into the program. It has finally calmed down a
bit, so I have the time and ambition to resume work on this. I am currently moving the database
into MS SQL Server instead of Access for multiple reasons. Once the database is done, I expect that
the actual coding is going to go very fast because I've had so long to think about how to do it.
Once the database is done and program are finished, I will upload the v5.00 for everyone. At the
same time, the website will get redone so that it has exactly the same features as the
offline program. That way, everyone will have the ability to fully utilize this thing. Also,
this is when I will ask for any wonderful volunteers to localize (translate) my database into all
the many languages out there. What will happen is that when an update is applied, the new site
will automatically show that translated word. Anything that isn't translated yet will just show
the English default. The offline program will also be able to query online to get all the new
localized data about once a day. I haven't figured out how that is going to work quite yet.
Once Pokemon is finally done, I am going to move on to Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. There are a
few things I know that would be very beneficial to have from a programming perspective. One thing
I want to do is have a user enter in the monster and skills wanted, and a program will go thru
and find the quickest route to achieving that monster, kind of like chain breeding does in Pokemon.
One more thing. I know that the Damage Calculator isn't 100% correct right now. I was hoping to get
the new program done a long time ago with the new calculations, but that hasn't happened. I don't
really want to rewrite that thing twice because the new calculation has a huge amount of variables to
deal with. For now, simply take about 2-3 damage points off both ends. If you barely get to a 100% damage
chance, then I wouldn't rely on ever getting a OHKO.

I have to rearrange some of the database table because it could be further normalized. Plus,
I'll be able to add more search capabilities into different screens because the data will
be broken up more thoroughly.

Well, I decided to release just the IV Calculator by itself. I'm sure most
people just use my program for that, anyway. If you notice any bugs, please
email them to me at
admin@metalkid.info.
Right now, it is bypassing the the whole program/login stuff and just shows the
IV Calculator screen. You can download it here:
